CentroVilla25 Opens as Cleveland’s Newest Cultural Landmark

CentroVilla25 officially opened its doors in Cleveland’s Clark-Fulton neighborhood, marking the completion of this redevelopment project by the Northeast Ohio Hispanic Center for Economic Development (NEOHCED).

CentroVilla25 will serve as a central hub for Latin American cuisine, commerce, and community gatherings, welcoming residents, visitors, and small business owners from across the region.

The 32,000 square foot facility was constructed through the adaptive reuse of four existing buildings across 14 parcels. Cleveland Construction was the construction manager for the complex build, which included structural reinforcements, full MEP system replacements, and the installation of a new elevator, steel stairs, and TPO roofing.

Cleveland Construction delivered the project in three phases: building conversion and site work, kiosk build-outs, and the creation of the Mercado bar and outdoor plaza.

The commercial kitchen features two full prep lines, rollable stainless steel tables, and rentable storage racks, supporting food entrepreneurs and hosting cultural cooking classes. The northwest corner of the building is now home to a Hispanic foods producer distributing to over 50 stores.

The architectural design was led by RDL Architects, with placemaking and interior design teams curating a multicolored exterior palette inspired by Latin American streetscapes. The building also includes second-floor offices for NEOHCED, a multipurpose conference room, and the Mandel Plaza, an outdoor gathering space with a stage, shaded seating, and food truck access.

Cleveland Construction’s partnership with NEOHCED helped ensure the project’s success. 35% of trade partners on the project were certified minority contractors, exceeding the project’s contracting goal and reinforcing its mission of inclusive economic development.

“This is a once-in-a-lifetime build,” said Dan Dietrich, Vice President at Cleveland Construction. “It’s a rare opportunity to deliver something this meaningful to the community.”
